Is this the car of YOUR future?

This is the Aptera Motors 2e an all-electric three-wheeled two-seater that gets the equivalent of 200 mpg and goes 100 miles on a charge.
Aptera Motors 2e
It is supposed to be in the “affordable” range of $25k - $45k.  Available in California only at first and if all goes well the rest of the nation. It is reported that there is room for 2 golf bags or about 15 bags of groceries. I wonder if its paper or plastic bags that they tested.

I am also wondering if the Jetsons styling will catch on to more then the Ed Begley Jr. types. I wouldnt mind it as a commuter car, but the “affordable” price is way out of my range, especially for just a commuter. Now mind you I am also not the type of person that believes that I have to go into debt for a car.

Catch 22 and the Pickens Plan

The Pickens Plan, at first glance looks to be a reasonable one. I specially like the plan to go towards CNG or compressed natural gas as a way to fuel our cars.

The problem I see is here is that who will take the gamble with this?
Where is the infrastructure? and who will fund it?

Do the auto makers start developing/building CNG vehicles in the hope that there will be fueling stations?
Or do current gas stations start supplying CNG to non-existent vehicles with the hope that the auto makers will start to build them?

Mr Pickens does have some good ideas and lots of money to throw at them, but in my eyes, without the infrastructure in place, I do not see the move to CNG vehicles happening.

Going Eco-Extreme.

Not your everyday Toyota Prius.

This one took eight weeks and $184,275 to create.
Built by Claes Gustafson and the crew at Classe’s Garage in Sweden.

It really was only a matter of time.

Enjoy.

Get Your Free Gas.

So, New Jersey is giving away $100 in gas for car pooling 24 days in 2 months. That’s about as close as you can get to free gas money.

But, there is another way to get/earn “free gas money”.

Well free is relative term here, what you are getting the free gas money for is advertising.

There are several companies that will pay you to plaster your car with advertising. Everything from full car wraps to license plate holders. Dollar amounts seem to range from $400 down to $5 per month.

Here are a few of the companies that I have found.

Free Gas Help
Mycar Mycar
Getting Free Gas
Auto Wraps

Are these companies scams? Maybe some of them are, I don’t know for sure but I do know that there is a growing trend for this type of advertising.
This may just be a fad so if you want to cash in I would suggest that you do your homework and jump on in.

I plan on checking into it myself.
